DENTIFY® American Pattern Extraction Forceps No. 23S - Lower Molars - Cowhorn

DENTIFY® American Pattern Extracting Forceps No. 23S are used for the extraction of mandibular (lower) molars. They are used in pediatric dentistry or for adult patients with smaller primary/secondary dentition. Cowhorn pattern features deeply hooked, pointed beaks designed to precisely engage the bifurcation of the lower molar roots.

Traditional American-pattern box-joint hinge provides a perfectly smooth, fluid movement, balanced handling, and a secure grip during extractions.

The knurled handle enhances grip and provides optimal control. Manufactured from high-quality stainless steel, they offer durability, corrosion resistance, and consistent clinical performance.

Key Features of American Pattern Extraction Forceps No. 23S

Anatomical Cowhorn Configuration: Features twin pointed, horn-shaped beaks specifically engineered to slip under the gingiva and firmly engage the deep bifurcation of mandibular molars.

Scaled Pedodontic/Small Design: Optimized for smaller anatomical structures, offering precise control in pediatric cases or tight posterior spaces.

Mechanical Wedge Advantage: Unique beak curvature acts as a wedge when closed, automatically lifting the tooth apically from the socket using minimal force.

American Box-Joint Hinge: Hidden, smooth-moving horizontal joint ensures long-term alignment stability and high tactile feedback.

Premium Construction: Crafted from medical-grade stainless steel for high corrosion resistance and long-lasting durability.

Clinical Uses of American Pattern Extracting Forceps No. 23S

American Forceps No. 23S are used for removing mandibular molars with distinct, bifurcated roots in smaller or pediatric patients. Unlike traditional flat-beaked forceps, the cowhorn design relies on a unique mechanical principle: as the clinician squeezes the handles, the pointed beaks slide deep into the bifurcation, utilizing the bone crest as a fulcrum to naturally lift, or pump the tooth out of the alveolar socket.
